and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) was signed into law on February 17, 2009. It includes a 30% consumer TAX
CREDIT (up to $1,500 for both 2009 and 2010) for the purchase of biomass (wood) burning stoves with a minimum thermal
efficiency rating of 75%. Purchases must be made between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010. The credit applies to the
purchase of the stove as well as installation costs. The credit is for new equipment, in an existing principle residence,
owned and used where the tax payer is the original owner of the stove. Please
